There are some things that we end up doing in the course of our days. We don't need to think too much about it, or plan for it specifically. It just happens because several opportunities for it arise in the course of our days, each one acting as a reminder, and we end up taking up one of these opportunities.
And then there are some things for which opportunities never arise in the course of our days. These need deliberate planning or a system to be in place for us to take time out of the course of our days to specifically do these. Like catching up with an old friend or acquaintance who is now living in a different part of the world.
If there are things that you feel like you should be doing but aren't because you never seem to find the time for them, you need to have systems in place that remind you to take time out.
If the opportunities aren't presenting themselves, then create systems that help surface these opportunities.
