This week, I've been reading Walter Isaacson's 'The Code Breaker', which is the story of CRISPR told from the vantage point of Jennifer Doudna.

All through the book, I've had the feeling that it would be an equally interesting story to read had it been written from the vantage point of Feng Zhang, who is one of Doudna's contemporaries. 

And today, most of the news that I came across was from the European and the American perspective of Russia's attack on Ukraine. 

Here too, I wondered what the narrative would be from a Russian vantage point. 

Our vantage point strongly influences the opinions that we form. 

To check our biases is to consider what our vantage point is.
