When things are not going great, and results aren't going their way, football players often say that they've got to trust the system and to keep doing what their manager wants them to do.

This is an important thing because this trust is what gives them hope and keeps them going.

If they don't trust the system, that means that whatever they do doesn't matter. And when what they do doesn't matter, there is very little motivation to keep putting in their best performance.

The system is not just a way of playing football, of course. It is the society we live in. It is the companies we work at. It is the laws of our countries.

We've got to trust the system. 

And when we don't, we've got to change it to one we do.
