To learn everything about a single topic can take a lifetime.
To master a single skill can take a lifetime.
To establish and imbibe a single virtue can take a lifetime.

In everything that we do, we have the choice to go deeper or to stop where we are. And the approach most people take is to just dig deep enough to be able to get away with. They stop at the level where going any deeper is not, strictly speaking, necessary.

Necessary for what, though?

Not necessary as per their job descriptions. Not necessary because to do so is someone else's job. Not necessary to absolve themselves of blame for not doing or not knowing.

These are not the ones that make a difference though.

The ones that do are those who dig that little bit deeper.
