Perfect

Yesterday, I wrote about embracing the not so perfect side of us and baring our flaws.

Today, I've been thinking about how this extends full circle to reach all the way to perfection.

When we start embracing the not so perfect, our expectations from the world and those around us change as well. When we don't always expect the perfect from us and learn to live with our flaws, we also begin to not expect the perfect from those around us and from the world around us in general.

As the now famous philosophy goes, happiness is reality over expectations. When we expect the perfect from those around us, no matter how good the reality is, it always lets us down.

When we begin to embrace and expect the not so perfect, reality positively surprises in so many ways.

Why rob ourselves of that?
