Two weeks ago, I shifted my workout routine from the evenings after work to the mornings before work. As a result, I feel fresher in the mornings, hungrier (literally) throughout the day, which means I can comfortably eat more, and have more time for other things in the evenings.
I decided to make the change as I was starting to find it difficult to use the time I had in the mornings in a more productive way and I was starting to feel like I was letting several hours just slip away. Two weeks in, all that seems to have been reversed.
However, I've gone through periods before where I've scheduled my time similar to the way I've been doing it these past two weeks and still run into trouble.
So, I've long since concluded that whatever routine it is, I get used to it and my mind and body get jaded after following it for a while. And that's when I know it's time to mix it up a bit to keep things fresh.
We all need such mixing up every now and then to break out of a path to being jaded. It's the next best thing to taking a vacation.
