Last night, I watched my first animated movie in the theatre after The Simpsons and the contrast between the two could not have been more evident. While The Simpsons was very hilarious and extremely well directed, the third movie of the Ice Age series could not have been more ordinary. Perhaps it appealed to a younger audience but I nearly fell asleep during the movie. There was an attempt to take the movie along the lines of one the most popular movies in recent times, the Pirates Of The Caribbean series and if that really was their intention then the execution was poor. The character 'Buck' was made as similar as possible to the legendary 'Jack sparrow'. The storyline was frail as well. Having stayed up late watching this, I failed to wake up in time today to witness the longest eclipse of the century as I had planned initially. I'm hoping that the classes scheduled to start tomorrow are not as disappointing as the movie.
Before I forget, the weather in Namma Bengaluru was a lot cooler than here in Surathkal. Although the nights are very cool thanks to the frequent shower-spells, it is very hot when the Sun is up and the humidity only adds to the misery. But thats how it has been all these years here at Surathkal and I must say I'm used to it by now.
